Children’sSSYProgramme

(From6 Yearsto12 Years)

Children’s Siddha Samadhi Yoga (SSY) is a programme to inspire children to live a life of profound creativity, health, enthusiasm and joyfulness.

Coming from the guru–shishya parampara, Poojya Guruji Shree Rishi Prabhakar has devised this simple but proven method to help children grow in leadership, responsibility, learning and self-confidence.

We start our life as a child. Life is full of fun then, but we lose it somewhere along the way as we grow up. The Children’s SSY Programme helps children to retain the elements of fun, joy, laughter and togetherness.

To help and support your child to retain his ‘ananda’ — joyous state — is the greatest gift you can give him or her in life.

The endeavour of this programme is to impart to children the techniques of clearing the mind, and improving memory, concentration and health. It also helps them to rise above the emotions of anger and irritation.

Breathing techniques, which direct prana (life-force energy) to all parts of the body, thus keeping the body healthy, agile and active, are taught.

These programmes are generally conducted in serene surroundings. The children are taught to be in silence — the art of going within. Here, they delve into their own consciousness to discover the potential within themselves.

This programme helps the child to develop leadership qualities, to be more efficient, to adapt to any situation, to have better memory and concentration, to do self-study easily, and to build inner and outer strength and confidence.

The learning is done in a fun, playful and interactive way through stories, drama, drawing and painting, songs and music, dancing, games, healthy eating, and healthy habits.

“I do not want to label my child as to what he was and what he was doing. But, I proudly say I made a good decision in sending him for this camp. Because, after the camp, he has changed a lot; he has become responsible, to some extent.

The second and very important aspect is that, earlier, whenever we would go out for a drive, he wouldn’t allow us to open the car’s window, as he had an allergy problem. Now he insists that we keep the window open so he can take in fresh air.

Earlier, whenever we would go for a holiday, he would stay in the resort room and watch television, and would want to just eat. He would not take any interest in playing or swimming, or observing nature. But, after coming back from the Children’s SSY Camp, this boy has become such an enthusiastic child that he does not want to stay in the hotel room; he just enjoys himself and takes care of himself.

He is now aware of what nature is and enjoys being with nature, which I feel is a fantastic change.”
