An organization with all the input for effective management could still break down if it lacks character. The members of the ongination, particulary the chief executive, must conduct the business with ethics and morality.
The virus that attacks the character of human being is one’s ego and exocentric desires. The ‘I’ that wants to get bigger and bigger. Craves to be known an idolised.
Ego manifesting a person in three distinct ways:-
I am supreme
I alone exists
I am the doer
Why do you have to compare yourself with others. Just play your life’s role without an air of superiority or inferiority. Live your life with an spirit of dispassion.
Service: physical level
The foremost value in business culture is service-centrednes as opposed to self-centredness.
The culture of giving, sharing has yielded to the desire, greed of taking, aggrandizing.
Human beings would do well to learn the art of sharing, giving, and serving.
Love: emotional level
Another ethical value is entertaining a feeling of love, friendship. Sharing of emotions. Empathizing with colleague’s at work.
Worry and anxiety saps one energy, causes fatigue. But you believe that work tires you. Work can never tier you. What actually causes fatigue is your worry of the past and anxiety for the future. To handle that you need cup of coffee to stimulate you at work. A few pegs of alcohol to recreate you at the end of the day. After five day’s work you must have the weekend break. Thank god it’s Friday! And you eagerly wait for the end of the year for your vacation. With all these breaks you still feel fatigued, stressed. Ironically no child is never fatigued. Unlike the adult. Though children are week and adults are strong. The young are always bristling with activity, effervescing with joy. Children have no worry of past and anxiety of future. You need to learn this lession from infants.
Sense of Dispassion
A plant is bereft of emotion. An animal has emotion which drive its action since it lacks an intellect. Where as a human possess emotion as well as an intellect to direct his action through reason and judgement. A perfect human being is one who has emotion but is not emotional. Has passion but is not passionate. Has sentiment but is non sentimental. A leader therefore should use the intellect to lead his team with dispassionate passion, with disinterested interest in the conduct of his business.
